Can you match new fencing to an existing run?

Where a specific panel or board system is still available, yes. Older or discontinued fencing is harder to match exactly, in which case replacing a full run tends to give a cleaner result than mixing old and new sections.

Do I need to tell my neighbour before replacing a boundary fence?

There's no strict legal requirement in most cases, but it's generally good practice and avoids any confusion, particularly if the new fence changes the height or style of what was there before.

How do I choose the right fencing contractor?
